Coming home is very depressing sometimes.

I haven’t really been home in awhile. I mean, I’ve been home for a dinner or a quick visit but I haven’t been home—you know?

Clayton’s changed.
The Coffee Mill closes at 2pm now. 2:00PM? What coffee shop closes at 2:00pm? I used to spend entire days in there reading Sylvia Plath or Jung or Nietzsche while hanging out with some really cool people and having some pretty intellectually stimulating conversations. Now I can’t even get a coffee past 2:00pm. It’s probably for the best though, I bet the place has changed more than just the closing time.

My house is different.
Now that our cat died, it just feels so empty in here. My parents are at work most of the day while I’m in the house, alone. I’m not much for watching too much TV anymore, so my choices are a little limited. (Whine, whine, whine; I know) I miss everyone at school. Dare I say, I actually miss schoolwork? At least I had something to keep me consistently on my toes…

However, I do have a lot planned for the remainder of winter break. Heading to Hampstead with Brittany to visit our friend Riley (middle/high school days) for a bit. Then the usual Christmas festivities followed by a 2-day trip to Greensboro to see Eric, Matt and Jeb before I hit Statesville to spend a week or so with Casey and his family.
